We are seeking 2-3 volunteer ESL Class Aides to support our large online English as a Second Language class of approximately 35–40 students. Classes are held via Zoom on Saturdays 4-6PM.

Role Summary: As an ESL Class Aide, you will help create an engaging and supportive learning environment for adult English learners. Your main responsibility will be to assist the instructor in facilitating and monitoring breakout groups, ensuring students stay on task, practice their English, and feel encouraged to participate.

Key Responsibilities:

Join both weekly classes on time and remain for the full session Facilitate and monitor small breakout group discussions or activities Provide encouragement, guidance, and clarification to students during group work Communicate any questions, challenges, or notable progress to the instructor Support the instructor in maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere

works closely with refugee families who have recently arrived in the United States and up to five years post arrival. The goal of an Acclimation Mentor is to assist the Refugee team in educating refugee families about the essentials of living in the US and facilitating an easier transition of acculturation
